(from Porsche Press Release) New customer sport top model for 2012 race season

Stuttgart. The new Porsche 911 GT3 RSR is ready to race. The top model of Porsche Motorsport’s customer racing vehicles will head into the 2012 season with extensive modifications. Particularly striking at first glance are the changes to the body: the width of the new GT3 RSR has grown by 48 millimetres. Built to conform to the A.C.O. “LM” GTE regulations, the 911 represents the crowning pinnacle of a range of successful customer sport race cars that are based on the 997 type 911 GT3 RS street sports car.

Powering the new 911 GT3 RSR is a particularly efficient six-cylinder boxer engine with a four-litre capacity. With a mandatory air-restrictor, it generates 460 hp (338 kW) and drives the 310 millimetre wide rear wheels. The diameter of the front wheels has increased by 30 mm to now measure 680 millimetres. The Porsche sequential six-speed gearbox is operated via paddle shifts on the steering wheel.

The nose and rear panels are adapted to the flared front and rear wheel arches, as are the door sill and the wheel arch coverings. The aerodynamic concept is complemented by a new ducting of the intake air. Openings in the rear side sections, as known from the turbo variants of the Porsche 911, replace the air scoop on the engine hood, which is very similar to the 911 GT2 RS street sports car.

The new 911 GT3 RSR can be raced at the Le Mans 24 Hours, the FIA World Endurance Championship, the Le Mans Series, the American Le Mans Series as well as the International GT Open and in other series and races.

“Our customer teams can expect a technically mature, high performance race car with which they will be highly competitive at international long distance races,” assures Hartmut Kristen, Head of Porsche Motorsport. “Our test programme on various international race tracks is currently running at full speed. We are very pleased with the car’s performance and driveability.”

The new Porsche 911 GT3 RSR will be delivered to customer squads around the world from January 2012. The selling price is 498,000 Euro plus value added tax of the respective countries.

Stuttgart. The next step up from the Cayman S is known as the Cayman S Black Edition: Starting in July 2011, Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, is bringing the mid-engine coupé to market in a special edition limited to 500 units boasting even better performance and especially lavish equipment specification. The Cayman S Black Edition is powered by a 3.4 litre six-cylinder boxer engine with power output increased by 10 hp (7 kW) to 330 hp (243 kW) at 7,400 rpm (an additional 200 rpm). The maximum torque remains unchanged at 370 Newton metres at 4,750 rpm.

The extra power feeds directly through into the performance of the all black two-seater. The acceleration times from nought to 100 km/h (62 mph) are improved by a tenth of a second to 5.1 seconds with the six-gear manual transmission and to 5.0 seconds with the optional Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK) respectively. A mere 4.8 seconds are required if the Launch Control is activated on the Sport Chrono package, available as an option. The Cayman S Black Edition’s top speed is two kilometres per hour (1.24 mph) faster than that of the Cayman S – 279 km/h (173 mph) with the manual transmission and 277 km/h (172 mph) with the PDK respectively.

The Cayman S Black Edition is not just more sportily agile in terms of its longitudinal dynamics but laterally as well. Among other factors, this is attributable to the Boxster Spyder wheels in black, which with a diameter of 19 inches are not just one inch bigger than the standard Cayman S wheels but are also half an inch wider than the optional 19 inch wheels on the Cayman S. The tyre sizes fitted are 235/35 ZR 19s on the front axle and 265/35 ZR 19s on the rear axle.

With its comprehensive and particularly high-quality equipment, the Cayman S Black Edition also caters for exceedingly exacting demands. For example, Bi-Xenon headlights with dynamic cornering lights and LED daytime running lights are just as much part of the basic specification as are automatic anti-dazzle interior and exterior mirrors with integrated rain sensor. Driver and front seat passenger sit on black partial leather seats with Porsche crest on the headrests; climate control ensures a comfortable temperature. The driver pilots the Cayman Black Edition by means of a Sport Design steering wheel, the cruise control makes driving at constant speed a more comfortable and economical experience.

The colour scheme of the limited edition sports coupé is consistent to the smallest detail: the dashboard trim is black as are the gear lever/selector trim and the instrument dials in the instrument cluster. The door entry guards emblazoned with the lettering “Black Edition” are made of stainless steel; the glove compartment lid bears the badge proclaiming the limited edition status. Equipped with Sound Package Plus, the Cayman S Black Edition’s infotainment systems are controlled via Porsche Communication Management (PCM). This also includes, for example, the navigation module and universal audio interface (AUX, USB, iPod). Mobile phone integration is already enabled. In all, the Cayman S Black Edition features the Porsche Comfort, Infotainment and Design packages, offering a price reduction into the bargain.

With country-specific equipment, the Cayman S Black Edition costs 67,807 euro in Germany including VAT.

Stuttgart. With its new top model in the Gran Turismo model line, Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, is raising the bar for sporty four-door cars in the luxury class by yet another notch. The new Panamera Turbo S is a unique combination of performance and efficiency, driving dynamics and comfort. The 4.8 litre, V8 biturbo charged engine delivers 550 hp (410 kW), ten percent or 50 hp (37 kW) more than the already very powerful engine in the Panamera Turbo. By the same token, the torque also increases from 700 to 750 Nm. In the “Sport” and “Sport Plus” mode of the standard Sport Chrono Package Turbo and during kick-down in normal mode, the eight cylinder engine delivers fully 800 Nm with the so-called overboost function.

The power pack is behind the new top-of-the-range Panamera’s record sprint times. Thanks to Launch Control, 100 km/h (62 mph) is reached in 3.8 seconds; the top speed is 306 km/h (191 mph). Despite the increased performance, fuel consumption remains at the moderate level of the Panamera Turbo – yet another example of “Porsche Intelligent Performance”. In the NEDC the Gran Turismo covers 100 kilometres (62 miles) on 11.5 litres of fuel. Fuel consumption falls to 11.3 litres per 100 km (25 mpg imp.) when fitted with the 19 inch, all-season tyres with optimised rolling resistance developed for the Panamera by Michelin.

The increased performance compared with the Panamera Turbo can be attributed to two main enhancements: Improved turbochargers with titanium-aluminium turbine wheels and modified engine control. The use of the innovative titanium-aluminium alloy reduces the weight of the turbine and compressor wheel. This results in a lower moment of inertia and thus in improved and more agile engine responsiveness.

Even for a top luxury class model, Porsche’s new top-of-the-range Panamera boasts an extraordinarily comprehensive equipment level. In keeping with the sporty concept of the high-performance Panamera, it features the most important driving dynamics control systems as standard. For example, Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC), an active roll stabilisation system, nips in the bud the vehicle’s tendency to lean when cornering, thus enhancing agility and comfort in equal measure. Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus) applies a variable torque split to the rear wheels combined with an electronically controlled rear differential lock, thus ensuring superior traction and therefore greater agility in every driving situation. The steering system uses the speed-dependent Servotronic. The Sport Chrono Package Turbo, which tunes the suspension and power unit, making them even sportier by pressing the additional “Sport Plus” button, is also fitted as standard, as is the sports exhaust system for an even more emotional engine sound.

The sporty character of the new Panamera Turbo S is apparent not just in its performance but is also reflected on the exterior. The 20-inch Turbo II wheels with increased rear axle track width, side skirts from the Porsche Exclusive range and the adaptive extending four-way rear spoiler in the exterior colour ensure particularly sporty performance and look. The fusion of exclusivity and sportiness is conveyed in the interior by the bi-colour leather finish, fitted as standard. The new combination of black/cream is offered exclusively for the new Panamera Turbo S with agate grey/cream also being added as an exclusive combination from the autumn.

The Panamera Turbo S costs 167,076 euro in Germany, including VAT and country-specific equipment. Deliveries start in June 2011.

The new Porsche Cayenne became significantly more compact when comparing it with its predecessor. With its refining programme, HAMANN-Motorsport follows the new design, but gives the SUV more profile at the same time. With new car body components, an extensive light alloy wheel programme and a powerfully sonorous exhaust system, the HAMANN Cayenne (958) becomes significantly more athletic at the same time. Moreover, HAMANN offers a performance enhancement for the Diesel model.

The Porsche Cayenne already looks very sportive in its original ex factory state. But still, the muscles of the car body can be even more enhanced. Therefore, HAMANN adds a front apron with additional air inlets and integrated daylight LEDs. The bonnet with power dome and lateral air exhausts is entirely made of ultra-light and high-strength carbon. The sides of the Cayenne are adorned with newly designed side skirts. HAMANN perfects also the back of the vehicle with an own invention. A three-part rear spoiler provides room for the earthy sounding sport exhaust system with four stainless steel end pipes.

In order to properly fill out the wheel houses, HAMANN offers a great selection of light-alloy wheels sized 23 inches. With the DESIGN EDITION RACE “ANODIZED”, the customer obtains a three-part wheel in cross spoke design with black rim star and high-gloss finished rim flange. The visible bolting is perfected with titanium bolts. The DESIGN UNIQUE FORGED “ANODIZED” is a one-piece black powder-coated light-alloy rim in cross spoke design. Alternatively, there is also the DESIGN UNIQUE FORGED “BRUSHED” in brushed aluminium design. All above mentioned wheels are made in forged technology and are available as complete wheel sets with 315/25 R23 tyres.

For the original Cayenne with ex factory air suspension, HAMANN offers a lowering range of approximately 35 mm in the front and the back.

Exclusively for the Porsche Cayenne Diesel, HAMANN offers a performance increase with optimised engine control. This increases the performance from 176 kW/240 hp to 202 kW/275 hp at 4,000 – 4,400 r.p.m. while the torque rises from 550 to 620 Newton metres at 2,000 – 2,250 r.p.m.

In order to emphasise the sound of the Porsche Cayenne V6- and V8-engines, HAMANN has developed a sport exhaust system which covers the whole product range from sport metal catalysers to end mufflers with four end pipes.

HAMANN enhances the interior with pedal covers made of aluminium, a foot rest and an exclusive floor mat set made of black pearl velour with the HAMANN logo in silver decorative stitching.

Fully forged 10×22 inch mono block rims in turbine design and wheels measuring 295/30/22 perfectly fit under the extended mudguards. As MANSORY rims are produced in forged technology, they are extremely light and due to the reduced unsprung masses, not only handling and acceleration, but also braking response of the Porsche Cayenne are improved. Further exclusive rim designs from 21 to 23 inches complete the wheel programme.

The MANSORY sports module for controlling the air suspension additionally enhances the XXL sized wheels. If desired, the SUV´s centre of gravity can be lowered by 45 millimetres.

An exclusive interior incorporating the finest leather, a forward-looking bodykit and greater power are what characterise the LUMMA CLR 558 GT.

The interior showcases the high standards of LUMMA Design. Nowhere is this better exemplified than in the two-tone leather upholstery. The appearance of the stylish animal skins in both beige and black is further enhanced by the decorative seams in the contrasting colour. The diamond-shaped stitching in particular really shows off the lavish way in which leather is used in the car’s interior. Then there’s the fine Alcantara which covers all the interior’s plastic coverings. The car’s sports exhaust is unique. Not only does it make a thunderous sound; its three tailpipes also create a thoroughly distinct look, with the middle tailpipe of a diameter of 100 millimetres flanked by the two 80 millimetre ones.

The vehicle’s engine power delivers what the car’s appearance and sound promise. Thanks to the LUMMA D-Box, the power output of the 6-cylinder diesel engine is increased from 240 hp (176 kW) to 276 hp (203 kW) while its maximum torque now reaches 630 Newton metres compared with the previous version’s 550 Nm. To ensure that the electronic accelerator pedal works more immediately, the tuning company has fitted its own LUMMA accelerator pedal power module.

The car’s electronic suspension lowering module ensures particularly agile cornering ability. LUMMA Design uses this at the standard air suspension system on both axles to lower the Cayenne by around 40 millimetres, thereby achieving significantly sportier handling on winding country roads. This allows the high-performance tyres (in sizes 295/30 at the front and 335/25 at the rear) to work especially well on the 10×22 inch and 12×22 inch LUMMA sports rims.

With its latest offering, LUMMA Design has managed to transform the standard Porsche into a unique sports car. The utterly distinctive looking bodykit and the exclusive interior are the highlights in the vehicle’s upgrading to a LUMMA CLR 558 GT. (from Porsche Press Release) Only 987 cars: Boxster S Black Edition with comprehensive range of equipment

Stuttgart. The Porsche Boxster model line has a new luxurious top model in addition to the sporty Boxster Spyder: The Boxster S Black Edition limited to 987 cars. With its 320 hp – ten hp more than the Boxster S – this edition offers a substantially larger range of standard equipment and exclusive special options, all at a very attractive price. The new mid-engined sports car is black all over: Black body, black hood, and black 19 inch Boxster Spyder wheels accentuate the muscular appearance of the top roadster. The Boxster S Black Edition will be launched in March 2011, and in Germany is priced at 63,404 euro including VAT and country-specific equipment.

The colour concept of the Boxster S Black Edition is consistent in every detail. The rear side air intake grilles are painted in black as is the twin tailpipe of the exhaust system. The model lettering painted in black on the rear luggage compartment lid identifies the Black Edition as much as the embossed Black Edition model designation on the side of the fabric hood. The roll-over bars are painted in black, too.

The black line of the exterior is continued in the interior. The stainless steel door entry guards feature the “Black Edition” model lettering in black. The standard Sport Design steering wheel with its double-spoke appeal has a non-slip rim of smooth-finish leather and sporty grips. The trim strips of the dashboard and of shift lever or gear selector are painted in black. The dials on the instrument cluster are black as are the partial leather seats with the Porsche emblem embossed in the headrests. Also available upon request: black leather interior. The limited edition badge on the glove compartment identifies the sports car as a model of the Black Edition.

As a standard, the Boxster S Black Edition features the otherwise optional “Comfort”, “Infotainment”, and “Design” equipment packages, and therefore comes at a more favourable price than a series model with comparable equipment options. The wind deflector is on board right from the factory as are the anti-dazzle interior and exterior mirrors with integrated rain sensor, cruise control and a climate control system. The Porsche Communication Management (PCM) including navigation module are also standard. In addition, the universal audio interface and mobile phone preparation are available as standard. The Sound Package Plus creates an impressive interior sound experience. The standard Bi-Xenon lights with dynamic cornering lights and LED daytime running lights ensure driving pleasure and safety on dark roads. Upon request, the Boxster S Black Edition can be individualised even further with other options of the Boxster programme. For example, the Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB) is an option as well as the Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) and the adaptive sports seats with memory function.

The chassis of the Boxster S Black Edition features clear lines with a sporty appeal. A decisive contribution to improve driving dynamics of the limited edition models even further are the tyres size 235/35 ZR 19 front and 265/35 ZR 19 rear on particularly lightweight wheels in the special ten-spoke design of the Boxster Spyder. As is typical for a Boxster, the new top model of the mid-engined sports car with its low centre of gravity as a result of the flat engine reaches an even more impressive level of agility.

A 3.4-litre six-cylinder engine with direct fuel injection, mounted in front of the rear axle of the Boxster S Black Edition, supplies power to the car. Its output is 320 hp – ten hp more than in the Boxster S. The engine reaches its rated power at 7,200 rpm, the Boxster S power pack at 6,400 rpm. Torque of 370 Nm boosted by ten newton metres is availabe at 4,750 rpm.

More output and more power equal more dynamics: The Boxster S Black Edition underpins its leading position by a superior driving performance. With its standard six-speed manual transmission, it accelerates from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.2 seconds, a tenth of a second faster than the Boxster S. The top model reaches its maximum speed at 276 km/h (171.5 mph), outpacing the Boxster S by two kilometres per hour (1.2 mph). The mid-engined sports car is modest only in its thirst for fuel. During the NEDC test cycle, the Boxster S Black Edition contents itself with as much fuel as the Boxster S: 9.8 litres per 100 kilometres (28.82 mpg imp).

To raise dynamics and efficiency even further, the Boxster S Black Edition may alternatively also be fitted with the seven-speed Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK). This will shorten acceleration times from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) to 5.1 seconds, the top speed with PDK is 274 km/h (170.3 mph). In comparison with a manual transmission, an additional speed and an intelligent shifting strategy lower fuel consumption to 9.4 litres per 100 kilometres during the NEDC complete cycle.
