<p>Munich. Only once has there been anything like it, but even that wasn’t as quick. With the MINI John Cooper Works GP, the British premium brand has come up with another car of exceptional talent designed to deliver extreme performance on both the race track and the road. The sportiest road-registered MINI ever made will go on sale later this year in a limited run of 2,000 cars. It is currently completing a programme of testing in preparation for series production, part of which has involved setting an impressive fastest lap of the Nürburgring’s Nordschleife circuit. The MINI John Cooper Works GP lapped the erstwhile Grand Prix course in 8 min. 23 sec. In so doing, the new model has put clear asphalt between itself and numerous sports cars from loftier perches – and beaten the lap time set by its predecessor, the MINI Cooper S with John Cooper Works GP Kit, by almost 19 seconds.</p>
<p>Underpinning the performance characteristics of the MINI John Cooper Works GP is exclusive powertrain, chassis and aerodynamics technology inspired directly by motor sport. Its twin-scroll turbo engine generates outstanding torque, displays remarkable elasticity and demonstrates a healthy appetite for revs. Specially developed, adjustable race suspension channels this superlative output into spectacular yet precisely controllable handling.</p>
<p>As well as being undeniably imposing visually, the design of the body also gives the MINI John Cooper Works GP ideal aerodynamic balance in extreme driving situations – a key element in delivering that handling flair. Large front and rear aprons, striking side skirts and a bespoke roof spoiler are complemented by a newly developed rear diffuser which optimises airflow around the underbody. The interior of the MINI John Cooper Works GP also contributes to the car’s inspirational racing feeling; with the rear seats removed, it focuses unashamedly on the needs of the driver and co-driver.</p>
<p>Concentrated motor sport expertise – faithfully embodied at MINI by its John Cooper Works sub-brand – is the not-so-secret ingredient in the MINI John Cooper Works GP recipe. The “GP” tag on the model title tells you exactly where the extreme sports edition of the compact MINI most tellingly reveals its potential. The GP’s chassis configuration, the effectiveness of its race-spec braking system, the grip offered by its likewise bespoke racing tyres, and its aerodynamic properties have been honed into a high-performance whole on the Nürburgring’s Nordschleife circuit, erstwhile venue for Formula One races and lauded as the world’s most challenging race track. The noteworthy lap time set by the MINI John Cooper Works GP is the product of this extensive testing programme.</p>
<p>The unadulterated transfer of motor sport expertise into the everyday driving environment has history at MINI; it was this approach that made the MINI Cooper S with John Cooper Works GP Kit the epitome of extreme driving fun in a small car when it was unveiled in 2006. Specific output of 100 kW/136 hp per litre of displacement and similarly impressive reserves of racing technology have secured its status as a sought-after collector’s item today.</p>
<p>The MINI John Cooper Works GP follows eagerly in the tyre tracks of its predecessor – and with an even greater spring in its step. It will be in similarly short supply; the world will have to make do with just 2,000 examples. Hosting the preview of the new model is another grand prix race track with history etched into every corner. The MINI John Cooper Works GP will be unveiled publicly for the first time at Le Castellet in France, venue for the MINI United festival on 11 – 13 May 2012.</p>

<p>Inspired by motorsport – Performance for the road</p>
<p>The Audi A5 Coupé is a seducer that sweeps people directly off their feet. The attractive two-door car also boasts excellent technical features, no matter if for every-day use or for the race track. The new A5 DTM meets the challenges of the renowned DTM (German Touring Masters). As an “Audi Sport Official Supplier”, Eibach equips the Audi racing cars with the perfect suspension systems to prepare them for their tasks. The Coupé also has an excellent motorsport feel on the road. The Eibach suspension experts want to prove this with a new project car based on the Audi S5. The Eibach specialists did not touch the standard 245kW/333HP – they decided to generate more power by improving the car‘s handling: with an optimum suspension set-up themed “Inspired by motorsport – Performance for the road”. Fitted with the Eibach B12 Pro-Kit, the Anti-Roll-Kit Performance Sway Bars and the Pro-Spacer Wheel Spacer. There are three different wheel-tyre combinations to choose from, depending on the intended use.</p>
<p>The Eibach B12 Pro-Kit Performance Springs and Shocks are composed of the Pro-Kit Performance Springs and specially adapted mono-tube gas pressure shock absorbers from Bilstein. A high degree of dynamics, precise handling and large reserves in the limit range guarantee motorsport-worthy excellence. The slightly lowered centre of gravity makes the car look even more like the Audi A5 DTM version – particularly in combination with a decal design inspired by motorsports.</p>
<p>The Eibach Anti-Roll-Kit and the Eibach B12 Pro-Kit form a perfect symbiosis in the Eibach Audi S5. The Performance Sway Bars reduce body roll and guarantee even more driving pleasure. The Eibach Audi S5 reacts to every steering command with extreme stability and precision. The Eibach Pro-Spacer Wheel Spacer made of aluminum round off the package.</p>
<p>The wheels are the final interface between asphalt and vehicle. In cooperation with its partners Toyo and OZ, Eibach has put together three different wheel-tyre combinations. These were optimised with respect to dimensions and specifications for representative purposes (Show &#038; Shine), for every-day use (Performance) and for the race track (High Performance). The award-winning Toyo Proxes T1 Sport, the Semislick Toyo R888 and the HLT lightweight technology of OZ are the chosen products.</p>
<p>With this set-up, the Eibach Audi S5 even feels at home on race tracks. To a certain extent, the motto “Inspired by motorsport – Performance for the road” is also true the other way round.</p>

<p>The successor of the legendary Murcielago sets new standards in the segment of super sports cars and Lamborghini unbridled the Aventador for the boulevards and racetracks of the world. Since the lead time is already more than a year before delivery, the solvent matador got enough time to sort out the exclusive group of luxury tuners and their offfers. Wheelsandmore from Baesweiler in Germnay has been made in this segment for years and earned a name and therefore does´nt stop at Lamborghini´s sharpest weapon.</p>
<p>Serial 700hp and 690nm torque are pulling at the 4 drive shafts of the V12 monster and provide a top speed of 350 km/h. After only 2.9s the sprint from a standstill up to 100 km/h is a thing of the past. Since power can´t be a sin, Wheelsandmore developed a software upgrade, which has been adapted to the higher throughput of the valve-controlled exhaust system and a special carbon fibre airbox. Moderate but effectively the luxury tuner increases the overall performance up to stable 777hp at additionaly 60nm of torque.</p>
<p>Visually, the ultralight forged 3-piece wheel model 6Sporz² convinced again and clings to the front axle in 10,0&#215;20&#8243; with 255/30/20 and on the rear axle in brute 12.5&#215;21&#8243; with 355/25/21 tires from Pirelli perfectly to the body the Lambo. The outside rims are wearing the same new mocha-brown color as the whole Aventador and the weight optimized centers are finished in elegant matte black.</p>
<p>An exclusive program with selected carbon components is currently under development and will complete the portfolio of the Aventador refinement.</p>

(from Ferrari Press Release)  Ferrari 458 Italia Spider &#8220;Perfetto&#8221; by wheelsandmore</p>
<p>As spring already shows its best at many places, Ferrari´s latest convertible, the 458 Italia Spider, doesn´t want to be inferior. Also Wheelsandmore reveals his sunny disposition and completes their 458-program with finest carbon elements entitled &#8220;Perfetto&#8221;.</p>
<p>So far the luxury tuner limited all programs in producing handmade forged wheels, exhausts, performance enhancements and suspension components. Now Wheelsandmore offers an armada of perfectly fitting and weight reducing carbon components for the Ferrari 458 Italia.</p>
<p>For the exterior the German cartuner provides only 100% full carbon fibre parts as rear diffusor, fuel cap, rear fog lamp frames, mirrors and spoiler fins. The interior, trunk and engine compartment is refined with side panels, a custom-fit trunk tray and a final panel for the rear window trim. Even the wheelhousings and the entire under-floor can be refined by replacing the autoclave produced high-performance carbon-fibre components with a matte finish. Using all elements of the „Perfetto program“ will reduce the vehicle´s weight around 30 kgs.</p>
<p>Even with the previously offered, maximum power increasement up to 621hp, the company now offers a newly developed Carbonairbox. Many years of knowledge from the racing and motor sport gained in the realization of the larger and throughput-optimized box, which results in the new performance stage III and a significant power increase in the amount of additional 26 hp / 19 nm up to a final 647hp / 635 nm of output. This increasement is achieved by installation of manifolds, valve-controlled exhaust system, a software upgrade and the described carbon-airbox.</p>
<p>The „Perfetto“ creation is completed due customizable forged rims of the type 6Sporz², which are finished sizing 9.0&#215;21&#8243; with 245/30/21&#8243; tires on the front and 12.5&#215;21&#8243; with 345/25/21“ Hankook S1Evo tires at the rear axle.</p>
<p>Since almost all Wheelsandmore products are handcrafted to customer requirements, individual productions are always welcome.</p>

<p>Lincoln MKT: Full-Size Crossover Upgraded, More Refined for Luxury Customers</p>
<p>Lincoln’s MKT full-size crossover offers a dramatically improved ride, sharper handling, better fuel economy and new safety technologies including rear inflatable seat belts for the 2013 model year, providing customers benefits and features that match or exceed more expensive competitors.</p>
<p>NEW LINCOLN MKT HIGHLIGHTS</p>
<p>    > Lincoln Drive Control – standard with the 365-horsepower 3.5-liter EcoBoost™ V6 – is an automatic system that delivers an ideal balance of a smooth ride with confident handling as it intuitively responds to the driver’s commands and the road itself. Lincoln Drive Control helps make the 2013 model the most refined and engaging MKT ever</p>
<p>    > Continuously Controlled Damping – included with EcoBoost V6 engine – enables Lincoln Drive Control by monitoring suspension settings up to 500 times per second, the real-time system adjusts the suspension 20 times per second to deliver more controlled handling with a smoother ride</p>

<p>continuously CONTROLLED DAMPING</p>
<p>Making a full-size crossover ride smoothly but handle well can be a real challenge.</p>
<p>“The 2013 MKT with Continuously Controlled Damping delivers a surprisingly vibrant blend of ride and handling. It’s more than you’d expect from a full-size, three-row luxury crossover,” said Scott Tobin, Director, Lincoln Product Development.</p>
<p>Continuously Controlled Damping (CCD) is fitted to the new Lincoln MKT when the crossover is equipped with the optional 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine. The adjustable suspension enables a more confident driving experience that defines the Lincoln DNA balance of ride comfort and handling. Regardless of road conditions, drivers will enjoy a markedly smoother, more controlled ride because CCD is always tuning and refining the ride quality.</p>
<p>The fully integrated system delivers its on-road benefit by significantly expanding the chassis’s capabilities compared to a chassis with nonadjustable struts and shock absorbers, known as dampers by chassis engineers.</p>
<p>REAL-TIME DAMPING</p>
<p>Compared to the fixed-rate damper standard on the 2012 MKT, the CCD damper on the 2013 MKT offers dramatically expanded control range. CCD utilizes 46 inputs to feed data to a sophisticated control unit that continuously monitors more than 23,000 packets of information per second.</p>
<p>The CCD control module reacts to the data by calculating the optimal damping force every 2 milliseconds or 500 times per second. Mechanical adjustments typically occur 20 times per second, but can be as rapid as 50 times per second. On average, large damper force adjustments (such as firm to soft) occur in just 11 milliseconds. For engineers, mechanical actions that occur in less than 13 milliseconds are considered real-time actions.</p>
<p>CCD constantly reads the road surface and continuously adjusts the suspension in real time within the three selectable ranges – Sport, Normal and Comfort. CCD operates so quickly that it can react pre-emptively.</p>
<p>CCD recognizes, for example, when the MKT is about to encounter a typical pothole. The system instantly tightens damper control to prevent the wheel and tire from crashing down into the full depth of the pothole. Typically, the damping rate increases by more than 150 percent vs. the system’s softest setting, helping to smooth out an otherwise harsh and jarring event. The system is so quick that inputs received at the front wheels are used to prepare the rear wheels to deliver a better driving experience.</p>
<p>“CCD is always active, refining the ride of the new MKT,” said Brian Naspinsky, Lincoln Vehicle Integration engineer. “CCD helps reduce body roll by up to 20 percent, making the MKT feel tighter and more buttoned down. Understeer on the MKT has been reduced by approximately 25 percent, so the car feels more eager and ready to respond. Simultaneously, CCD also makes it possible to provide a smoother, more confident ride over virtually any road surface.”</p>
<p>Lincoln drive control</p>
<p>Lincoln Drive Control is always at work refining the vehicle’s driving dynamics. Enabled by features including CCD and electric power-assisted steering (EPAS), the system continuously integrates handling performance, ride firmness, throttle response, shift feel, steering response and traction control/electronic stability control parameters.</p>
<p>“The new system coordinates the performance of multiple adjustable systems – suspension, steering, engine and transmission – so that it’s easy to use and enjoy,” Tobin said.</p>
<p>In addition to its automatic operation, Lincoln Drive Control enables drivers to change the driving personality of the MKT:</p>
<p>    > Comfort mode – When the gear selector is in Drive, Lincoln Drive Control delivers the ideal Lincoln ride, balancing comfort with confident control and handling. Many drivers will find the Comfort setting perfect for commuting and everyday driving. This mode provides a comfortable driving experience and a direct connection to the road without sacrificing the expected ride smoothness<br />
    > Sport mode – When the gear selector is in Sport, Lincoln Drive Control transforms this crossover’s personality into a more performance-oriented machine. The following systems change settings in Sport mode:<br />
    > The CCD suspension switches from operating in its comfort range to its firmest sport range, emphasizing handling<br />
    > The electric power-assisted steering recalibrates to provide more road feel and greater steering effort<br />
    > The engine responds more directly to the driver’s inputs<br />
    > The transmission upshifts at higher rpm, downshifts become more aggressive, and the transmission will hold gears longer and while in corners. Additionally, sixth gear is locked out<br />
    > Traction control and electronic stability control settings are also modified to allow more spirited driving</p>
<p>In addition to Comfort and Sport, Lincoln Drive Control offers the Normal mode, which splits the difference between the two. Normal mode can be activated using MyLincoln Touch.</p>
<p>The standard engine for 2013 is a more powerful and efficient 3.7-liter V6 that includes twin independent variable camshaft timing (Ti-VCT). The ability to vary camshaft timing to optimize the opening and closing of intake and exhaust valves increases the engine’s power and efficiency.</p>
<p>Horsepower for 2013 increases to 303 from 268, a 10 percent increase achieved with projected fuel economy ratings that improve to 17 mpg city, 25 mpg highway, a 1 mpg highway improvement. The MKT now offers more standard horsepower than the Audi Q7, Acura MDX and Mercedes-Benz R-350.</p>
<p>3.5-liter EcoBoost V6</p>
<p>Nine out of 10 MKT retail customers opt for twin-turbo 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, an engine that provides V8 performance with the fuel economy of a V6. In terms of horsepower from optional engines, the MKT fitted with EcoBoost has no direct competition.</p>
<p>“Especially with the 3.5-liter EcoBoost, the MKT delivers a ‘wow’ driving experience in a quiet, comfortable and distinctive crossover,” said Elaine Bannon, MKT chief engineer.</p>
<p>The 3.5-liter gasoline turbo direct-injected (GTDI) engine produces 365 horsepower at 5,700 rpm and an expansive torque curve that plateaus at 350 lb.-ft. of torque from 1,500 to 5,250 rpm. Fuel economy is projected to be 16 mpg city, 22 mpg highway. The EcoBoost V6 earned a slot on Ward’s 2010 “10 Best Engines” honoree list the year it was introduced.</p>
<p>efficient SIX-speed transmissions</p>
<p>Lincoln MKT is equipped with two versions of the six-speed SelectShift Automatic™ transmission, both with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters. The 3.7-liter Ti-VCT V6 uses the 6F-50, and the more powerful 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 uses the heavy-duty 6F-55. This transmission features high-energy friction materials, a larger ring gear and a specific torque converter that optimize the 6F-55 to handle the high-torque output of the twin-turbo 3.5-liter.</p>
<p>These gearboxes offer the driver a choice between fully automatic operation and manual control. Unlike some competitive transmissions, SelectShift won’t second guess the driver with an override shift. The manual control is truly controlled by the driver.</p>
<p>all-wheel drive</p>
<p>All-wheel drive is standard with the twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6. In good weather over smooth roads at modest speeds – when AWD is not needed – the system intelligently routes power only to the front wheels, improving fuel efficiency.</p>
<p>When driver input or road conditions indicate that slip might occur, the system sends power rearward to help prevent tire slip from happening in the first place (such as on rain-slicked or snow-covered roads).</p>
<p>A myriad of inputs enables the computer-controlled system to identify and immediately react – in as little as 16 milliseconds – to changing road conditions and driver demands. The amount of torque sent to the rear axle varies depending on road conditions and dynamic needs.</p>
<p>STEERING</p>
<p>The steering system for the new MKT is improved, too. The gear ratio is quicker (15:1 for 2013 vs. 17.1:1 for 2012), making the steering more immediately responsive.</p>
<p>All new MKT models benefit from electric power-assisted steering. EPAS replaces the traditional hydraulic-assist power-steering pump with an electric motor. This helps save fuel because the motor operates only when assistance is required, unlike hydraulic systems that run continuously. EPAS was standard on 2010-12 MKT models with the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 and is now standard on all MKT models. The new EPAS parallels CCD in how it provides a tunable driving experience and an expanded range of adjustability.</p>
<p>Depending on model and the Lincoln Drive Control mode (if so equipped), steering response for the new MKT improved 10 to 25 percent compared with 2012.</p>
<p>EPAS offers additional benefits. At lower speeds, such as when parking, EPAS provides additional boost for effortless maneuverability. At higher speeds, EPAS increases steering effort and feedback, giving drivers more precise steering control.</p>
<p>ACTIVE PARK ASSIST</p>
<p>EPAS is also the primary technology behind the MKT’s class-exclusive active park assist (APA). Once engaged via the switch on the center console, ultrasonic sensors precisely measure open spaces to find a suitable parallel parking spot. When engaged, the sensors measure spots and inform the driver of an appropriate spot. With a few actions, the MKT steers itself into the open space. The driver retains full control of throttle, brakes and shifting the entire time APA is engaged.</p>
<p>more capable braking system</p>
<p>To match the engine’s extra power and the suspension’s additional handling capabilities, Lincoln has significantly upgraded the MKT braking system for 2013. The new vented front discs measure 13.86 inches (352 millimeters), more than an inch larger than 2012. To enhance brake cooling, the “hat” portion of the front brake disc is also vented, a unique design developed by Ford Motor Company.</p>
<p>Additionally, the diameter of the rear discs increased 0.58 of an inch to 13.58 inches and the discs are now vented. Brake pad area and total swept area increased significantly, with each improvement working together to improve braking performance, reduce brake fade under heavy use and provide the driver with a more direct and linear braking feel.</p>
<p>NEW STYLING</p>
<p>The changes ensure a recognizable Lincoln family look going forward. The grille and front fascia all are new, as are the wheel selections.</p>
<p>“The effort behind the new look was to change the proportion of the MKT from the front view. We helped make it feel wider and a bit less tall, less vertical,” said Max Wolff, Lincoln Design Director. “The execution of the new MKT’s grille and the grille bars is a lot more refined and elegant. The new front graphic displays a lot of three-dimensionality, but it’s accomplished in a calmer, more restrained way.”</p>
<p>three-row INTERIOR</p>
<p>Inside, functional, styling and safety updates transform the already distinctive and roomy interior of the new MKT into an even more welcoming, luxurious and technologically advanced space.</p>
<p>The significantly revised interior complements the airy feeling afforded by the standard Panoramic Fixed-glass Vista Roof™.</p>
<p>The MKT offers three rows of seating configured in six- and seven-passenger alternatives. Highlighting the emphasis on first-class travel, those riding in the second row enjoy more legroom than any vehicle in this class. The second-row seats can also be heated and cooled. The second-row refrigerator (integrated into the center console) remains a popular option.</p>
<p>MYLINCOLN TOUCH</p>
<p>Drivers particularly benefit from the latest upgrade of MyLincoln Touch hardware that equips the new MKT with Lincoln’s most advanced HMI or Human-Machine Interface.</p>
<p>The all-new instrumentation features a central speedometer flanked by two full-color reconfigurable LCD screens. The 4.2-inch LCD screens are controlled by five-way buttons on the steering wheel. The 8-inch multi-function LCD touch screen dominates the center stack and provides the visual and control interface for the entertainment system, phone, navigation and climate control.</p>
<p>INFOTAINMENT SYSTEMS</p>
<p>MKT offers two audio systems, both controlled through MyLincoln Touch. The standard system includes AM/FM/CD/MP3/satellite sources playing through a 210-watt system that drives eight speakers.</p>
<p>The optional hardware is the THX® II Certified Car Audio System that brings home-theater sound to the open road. The 700-watt system plays through 14 strategically aimed premium audio speakers. Sources include AM/FM/CD6/DVD/MP3/HD Radio plus an auxiliary input jack and a USB port. SiriusXM satellite radio with six-month prepaid subscription is standard.</p>
<p>SiriusXM Traffic and SiriusXM Travel Link with voice-activated navigation controls are available. A prepaid subscription to SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link is included when the available SD card-based navigation system is selected. MyLincoln Touch and SYNC enable voice-activated navigation control. In addition to an easily updateable navigation database, additional Sirius features include coast-to-coast weather data, forecasts, fuel prices, sports scores, movie listings and more.</p>
<p>CRAFTED, NATURAL, COMFORTABLE</p>
<p>Standard 12-way adjustable front seats, adjustable pedals and power tilt/telescoping steering wheel help accommodate a wide range of drivers.</p>
<p>The leather surfaces for the first two rows of seating are provided by the Bridge of Weir leather company. Sourced from Scotland, Bridge of Weir leather can also be found in luxury jets, yachts and covering fine furniture.</p>
<p>The company uses a unique organic tanning method, which produces leather free of chromium – making it one of the most environmentally friendly and fully recyclable leathers available. French and Deck seams add to the interior’s high level of finish.</p>
<p>The seat cushions, head restraints and seat backs are made with soy foam, which has a lower environmental impact than petroleum-based foams. In addition, the soy-based materials deliver excellent performance and offer equivalent comfort and durability.</p>
<p>The heated steering wheel is a welcome new option for drivers who live in colder climates. A thin metal element under the wheel’s leather-wrapped rim can raise the rim’s surface temperature from minus 4 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 20 degrees Celsius) to 74F (23C) in five minutes.</p>
<p>Because interior quietness is a universal luxury cue, the 2013 MKT is significantly quieter than the 2012 model. Additional noise barriers and absorbers were placed in the front wheel wells, around the shock towers, under the hood and in the trunk. The exterior mirrors also were redesigned to reduce wind noise.</p>
<p>SYNC</p>
<p>The next generation of the award-winning SYNC system continues to become easier to use and more robust in its operation. New, simpler screen designs improve the user interface. Larger and bolder fonts make screens easier to read. SYNC’s voice recognition experience, powered by Nuance, also improves.</p>
<p>Microsoft’s Windows Embedded Auto software platform continues to be the operating platform that will deliver faster response times. SYNC has evolved from a stand-alone module for communication and entertainment to become a fully integrated operating system for Lincoln vehicles with MyLincoln Touch.</p>
<p>As a further enhancement to the SYNC experience, the standard system in the 2013 MKT provides Operator Assist as a standard SYNC Services feature, allowing users to connect with a live person free of charge.</p>
<p>SYNC also enables the interior of the MKT to become a Wi-Fi hot spot when linked to a data-enabled cellular device. With active Wi-Fi, passengers can link to the Web on gaming systems, PDAs, tables and laptops.</p>
<p>INFLATABLE REAR BELTS</p>
<p>Second-row outboard passengers – often children or mature passengers – can benefit from available inflatable rear belts, a segment first.</p>
<p>These advanced restraints spread impact forces across more than five times the area of conventional safety belts, reducing pressure on the chest while helping to control head and neck motion.</p>
<p>DRIVER-ASSIST technologies</p>
<p>The 2013 MKT offers a complete collection of driver assist technologies in addition to the array of six airbags, anti-lock brakes (ABS), traction control and AdvanceTrac® with RSC® (Roll Stability Control™).</p>
<p>Lincoln MKT earned a Top Safety Pick from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety for 2010 and 2011. To earn the ranking, a vehicle must receive a “good” (the best available) rating in all four of the institute’s crash tests: front, side, rear and rollover, and have electronic stability control as an option. The MKT met all current requirements while offering much more technology to assist drivers.</p>
<p>Curve control</p>
<p>Curve Control is a dynamic feature designed to help drivers maintain control if they inadvertently take a curve – such as a freeway off-ramp – too quickly. Curve Control senses when a vehicle is entering a curve too quickly, and can automatically apply the braking system to reduce vehicle speed by up to 10 mph in approximately one second. The reduction in speed is often enough to help drivers follow their intended path.</p>
<p>Lane keeping system</p>
<p>The newly available Lane Keeping System adds to the advanced capabilities already offered on MKT, including collision warning and BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) with cross-traffic alert.</p>
<p>Lane Keeping Alert helps drivers avoid leaving their lane unintentionally because of distraction or fatigue. When activated by the driver, Lane Keeping Alert utilizes a forward-facing mono-vision camera mounted behind the rearview mirror to begin looking for lane markers.</p>
<p>Above 40 mph, a control unit monitors the data and determines when the vehicle is wandering out of its lane. As the vehicle approaches the outer boundary of its lane, the system vibrates the steering wheel, cueing the driver to pay attention. Sensitivity settings are adjustable via MyLincoln Touch.</p>
<p>None of these technologies actively prevent lane departures. The responsibility for safe vehicle operation remains entirely the driver’s responsibility.</p>
<p>Lane Keeping Alert remains dormant when the turn signal is activated or if the driver is engaged in an evasive maneuver.</p>
<p>It works in concert with Lane Keeping Aid. When activated, Lane Keeping Aid will add torque to the steering system to nudge the MKT back into the center of its lane if the driver drifts too close to the lane’s edge and does not take the needed corrective steering action. The system includes the ability to sense if a driver is driving hands-free. A warning chime sounds to discourage system misuse.</p>
<p>Driver Alert is a third element of the Lane Keeping System. If the system detects a driving pattern consistent with a drowsy driver, a first-level chime will sound and a friendly suggestion of a coffee cup graphic will appear on the left-hand 4.2-inch instrument cluster LCD screen.</p>
<p>If the driver does not respond and the system continues to sense that the driver is fatigued, another warning and chime will occur. Drivers curious about their state of alertness can monitor their performance at any time.</p>
<p>Collision Warning</p>
<p>Collision warning helps prevent common traffic accidents. Forward-looking, long-distance radar identifies potential obstacles. When the danger of a collision is detected, the system warns the driver with an authoritative beep and a simultaneous red warning light projected on the windshield.</p>
<p>These warnings should be enough to allow the driver to brake before the accident. Collision warning also provides brake support. This function enables harder, quicker deceleration to help drivers stop or reduce speed and lessen the collision impact.</p>
<p>ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL</p>
<p>Adaptive cruise control (ACC) is paired with collision warning because both utilize the forward-looking radar system. With a range up to 600 feet, ACC monitors and adjusts the speed of the MKT to keep it at a safe distance behind a lead vehicle in the same lane.</p>
<p>The scanning radar unit and control module ignores stationary objects as it determines the closing rate toward the vehicle ahead to assess whether it is necessary to automatically adjust the engine throttle setting or engage the braking system.</p>
<p>With the capability to work at speeds as low as 20 mph, drivers can set the system to work during normal commuting, helping reduce driver fatigue. Three programmable system settings are accessed through MyLincoln Touch.</p>
<p>BLIND SPOT INFORMATION SYSTEM</p>
<p>The available Blind Spot Information System (BLIS®) with cross-traffic alert can detect vehicles in blind spots during normal driving and traffic approaching from the sides when reversing out of parking spots. BLIS uses radar to detect when another vehicle enters the defined blind spot zone. A light appears on the corresponding sideview mirror to indicate another vehicle is in the defined blind spot.</p>
<p>MyKey® allows parents or other concerned owners to restrict certain Lincoln MKT features when in the hands of a MyKey driver. Parents simply program the vehicle key through the message center to incorporate features such as:</p>
<p>    > Limited top speed of 80 mph<br />
    > Traction control system that limits tire spin cannot be deactivated<br />
    > Audio system volume limited to 44 percent of maximum volume<br />
    > A speed alert chime at 45, 55 or 65 mph</p>
<p>CHAUFFEUR-DEDICATED EDITIONS</p>
<p>MKT also features two chauffeur-dedicated models – the 2013 Lincoln MKT Town Car Livery and Limousine.</p>
<p>The MKT Town Car offers a higher roofline, roomier, more sophisticated seating, a spacious trunk plus even easier passenger entry and exit. Two Town Car body styles include standard livery version with available all-wheel drive, and stretchable heavy-duty Limousine with standard all-wheel drive. The limo chassis accommodates stretches by adding an additional 120 inches (10 feet).</p>
<p>MKT Town Car Livery model improves passenger comfort thanks to redesigned rear seating. Second-row seats have been repositioned rearward by 1.5 inches for additional legroom.<br />
A switch on the rear passenger side door allows a rear seat passenger to control the front passenger seat, providing even more legroom. The three-person rear seat also reclines. The new MKT Town Car Livery model provides operators with 39.6 cubic feet of cargo volume.</p>
<p>All commercial vehicles include comfortable and productive work environments for drivers and passengers. Standard technologies include SYNC, hands-free navigation, standard Wi-Fi capability and a rear view camera system.</p>

<p>NEW YORK, April 2, 2012 – The all-new Lincoln MKZ makes its debut at the New York International Auto Show, marking a key milestone in Lincoln’s reinvention.</p>
<p>“The new Lincoln MKZ represents the future of Lincoln in both style and substance,” said Jim Farley, Group Vice President, Global Marketing, Sales and Service. “It is proof of our commitment to deliver a new breed of Lincolns for a new generation of Lincoln clients – motor cars that are distinctive, elegant, full of technology and a delight to own.”</p>
<p>The 2013 Lincoln MKZ enters the midsize luxury segment later this year.</p>
<p>    > It is the first Lincoln created by a dedicated team in its new Lincoln Design Studio</p>

<p>Camera- and Radar-Based Driving Aids</p>
<p>The new Lincoln MKZ offers the Lane Keeping System, a suite of advanced driving aids that helps drivers avoid drifting from their lane due to distraction or fatigue. Consisting of Lane Keeping Aid, Lane Keeping Alert and Driver Assist, the Lane Keeping System utilizes a mono-vision camera integrated into the rearview mirror to read the lane markers ahead. <p>Available radar-based (ultrasonic) driving aids further enhance the driving experience. Adaptive Cruise Control and Collision Warning with Brake Support each use a long-range radar system that scans in front of the vehicle, automatically adjusting to traffic speed and providing a visual and audible alert when a potential front-end collision is detected.</p>
<p>Active park assist and Blind Spot Information System (BLIS®) with cross-traffic alert use multiple short-range wide-angle radar sensors. Each function provides a distinct benefit, ranging from making parallel parking easier to warning of oncoming vehicles while backing out of a parking space.</p>
<p>SYNC with MyLincoln Touch</p>
<p>SYNC with MyLincoln Touch is standard in the new MKZ. The combined system makes it easier to use the entertainment, climate and available navigation features as well as devices brought into the car (e.g., phones, PDA, MP3 players). Twin five-way controls on the steering wheel manage essential systems, and many functions can be voice-activated via SYNC.</p>
<p>Standard SYNC Services make turn-by-turn directions available via one button push and simple voice commands. Continually improving voice recognition software learns user voices, improving the efficiency of voice commands.</p>

<p>Always on, Lincoln Drive Control orchestrates the performance of the Continuously Controlled Damping (CCD) adjustable suspension, electric power-assisted steering (EPAS), engine, transmission, Active Noise Control (ANC), traction control and stability control systems.</p>
<p>The result is an unsurpassed combination of refined ride and engaging driving dynamics. CCD offers three modes (Sport/Normal/Comfort) that are accessible using MyLincoln Touch. Selecting “Sport” on the Push Button Shift gear selector enables a decidedly more sporty driving experience.</p>
<p>CCD contributes to Lincoln Drive Control’s transparent action by monitoring the car’s suspension settings up to 500 times per second. The real-time system adjusts the suspension up to 50 times per second to deliver more controlled handling with a smoother ride. CCD augments a highly developed chassis that includes a refined strut front suspension and an all new integral link rear suspension.</p>
<p>The new MKZ is the only sedan in its class to include Continuously Controlled Damping and Active Noise Control as standard equipment.</p>
<p>MKZ Engines, Transmissions and Drive Systems</p>
<p>The 2013 Lincoln MKZ offers three distinct powertrains. The standard 2.0-liter four-cylinder EcoBoost® delivers the performance of a traditional V6 along with expected segment-leading fuel economy that is at least 3 mpg better than the closest competitor. This engine delivers a projected 20-percent increase in highway fuel economy versus the 2012 MKZ.</p>
<p>Emphasizing performance and efficiency, the optional 3.7-liter V6 produces significantly more power (37 horsepower and 28 lb.-ft. of torque) than the previous MKZ V6 while improving fuel economy approximately 5 percent.</p>
<p>Maximizing fuel efficiency, the optional 2.0-liter four-cylinder hybrid powertrain is expected to enable the 2013 MKZ Hybrid to remain North America’s most fuel-efficient premium sedan. The 2012 MKZ Hybrid is rated at 41 city mpg, 36 highway mpg.</p>
<p>Non-hybrid models utilize a six-speed automatic transmission. Standard paddle shifters mounted behind the steering wheel add to the performance driving experience of the MKZ.</p>
<p>Retractable Panoramic Roof</p>
<p>The Retractable Panoramic Roof is a new signature feature for Lincoln. The 15.2-square-foot glass panel offers one of the largest openings available on any current sedan. The design maintains the structural strength of a steel-roof vehicle. Click here to view a video on the feature.</p>
<p>DESIGN</p>
<p>Nearly identical to the MKZ Concept shown at the North American International Auto Show in January, the production 2013 Lincoln MKZ embodies a design language that is subtly distinctive.</p>
<p>“We call it elegant simplicity,” said Max Wolff, Lincoln Design director. “We wanted the new MKZ to be inviting and approachable. We moved away from traditional luxury cues and complex designs. We came up with something warm that is rich, yet still intentionally restrained.”</p>
<p>MKZ Exterior</p>
<p>A sweeping roofline defines the new luxury sedan’s profile. The steeply raked windshield and lengthened backlight make for a sleeker and more flowing appearance that is 10 percent more aerodynamic than the model it replaces. “The MKZ shape is a vision completed with just a few strokes,” said Wolff. <p>Although strikingly modern, the design retains classic Lincoln design elements including a more refined interpretation of the split-wing grille, first seen on the 1938 Lincoln-Zephyr. Click here for image.</p>
<p>Rearview mirrors stand on door-mounted, sculpted pedestals. This fitment enables the front door glass to extend farther forward to improve visibility and to allow even more light into the interior.</p>
<p>The crafted headlamp assemblies include bright, energy-efficient LED lighting. The front headlights turn in sync with the steering wheel, providing enhanced visibility. At the rear, LED technology enabled a thin, distinctive full-width taillamp graphic.</p>

<p>“The exterior’s front graphic is repeated in the dramatic sweep of the new instrument panel, helping tie the interior to the exterior in a harmonious manner. These flowing forms – along with the open center console – create a comfortable and functional interior that particularly appeals to younger, more diverse drivers we believe will now consider Lincoln,” said Wolff.</p>
<p>Innovation and technology abound inside the new MKZ. Replacing the traditional mechanical transmission shift lever is a contemporary five-button interface. The individual buttons of Push Button Shift engage Park, Neutral, Reverse, and forward gears in two modes, Drive and Sport.</p>
<p>Push Button Shift gave designers freedom to create a sculptural multi-level center console with more functional storage areas.</p>
<p>Positioned ahead of the driver, the full-color 10.1-inch LCD instrument cluster operates with the latest version of SYNC with MyLincoln Touch. The all-new design combines dimensional indicator rings framing a brilliant and reconfigurable Thin Film Transistor (TFT) LCD. An equally critical component of MyLincoln Touch is the nearly flush-mounted center 8-inch LCD touch screen that displays information clearly in easy-to-reference color-keyed quadrants.</p>
<p>Premium-grade, supple leather covers all seating surfaces. Responsibly harvested wood and metal-toned surfaces create a luxurious and comfortable interior space.</p>
<p>Standard luxury amenities include an 11-speaker audiophile entertainment system and cabin air filtration, plus heated front seats (with the driver&#8217;s featuring 10-way power controls), remote start capabilities and Active Noise Control.</p>
<p>To make the MKZ exceptionally quiet, ANC electronically targets frequencies and reduces their intensity. To improve the refinement of the driving experience, other frequencies are subtly enhanced.</p>
<p>The available THX® II Certified Car Audio System is a Lincoln-exclusive that features 700 watts, 14 channels and 14 speakers. THX audio engineers spent more than 200 hours custom tuning the THX-certified equipment to the new MKZ’s interior. The result delivers home-theater surround sound to the road.</p>
<p>The new MKZ is the only sedan in its class to offer inflatable second-row outboard seat belts. Rear-seat passengers – often children or mature passengers – can be more vulnerable to head, chest and neck injuries. The available inflatable second-row, outboard seat belts spread impact forces across more than five times the area of conventional belts, reducing pressure on the chest while helping to control head and neck motion and helping reduce the risk of injuries. <p>(Crewe, England &#038; Beijing, China. 21 April, 2012) Bentley Motors and its customers in Beijing celebrated HM The Queen’s Birthday and her Diamond Jubilee year at the gala opening of one of the world’s largest Bentley dealerships &#8211; a new landmark in the cosmopolitan Sanlitun district. To mark the occasion, Bentley unveiled the first example of its Mulsanne Diamond Jubilee Edition.</p>
<p>Designed by the craftsmen and women of Bentley’s Mulliner division, the creators of the State Limousine presented to Queen Elizabeth II in 2002, just 60 examples of the Mulsanne Diamond Jubilee Edition have been created with each car representing a year of Her Majesty’s reign.</p>
<p>These very special Bentleys are distinguished by a range of exquisite, handcrafted features paying tribute to the Jubilee. These include bespoke embroidery to all four headrests using gold stitching, veneered picnic tables in the rear cabin decorated with a gold overlay depicting a royal carriage used for great occasions of state as well as luxurious, hide cushions featuring the same motif.</p>
<p>Two beautiful, highly-polished stainless steel treadplate plaques featuring the famous ‘Bentley Mulliner, England’ script and ‘Diamond Jubilee Edition’ have also been commissioned for these Mulsanne models.</p>
<p>Mulliner came to prominence when the family was commissioned to build carriages for the Royal Mail in 1760. By the late 19th Century Mulliner was hand-crafting the coachwork for the new “horseless carriage” – the first cars.</p>
<p>Mulliner’s association with Bentley harks back to the very beginning of the marque’s story when W.O. Bentley commissioned Mulliner to build the bodywork for the famous EXP1. This partnership continued to flourish, producing the streamlined contours of the revolutionary 1952 R-Type Continental, among many other iconic Bentley designs. Now known as Bentley Mulliner and a wholly-owned division of Bentley Motors, the Mulliner team offers a specialist personal commissioning department for Bentley customers and limited edition cars.</p>
<p>True to the Mulliner tradition, the Diamond Jubilee Edition cars feature a spectrum of paint and hide colours that sets them apart from other Bentleys and which stylishly uses various combinations and shades of red, white and blue (the colours of the Union Flag) to underscore the British connection. Hand-applied Single Fine Lines – using these same three colours – provide an elegant finishing touch as do two distinctive Bentley ‘B’ badges positioned on each ‘D’ pillar.</p>
<p>“The respect and genuine interest shown towards so many aspects of British life, and most especially The Royal Family, has made China a unique experience for our marque as well as many other UK businesses,” comments Richard Charlesworth, Director of Royal and VIP Relations, Bentley Motors.</p>
<p>“This series of special cars, hand-built by our Mulliner Division, is our way of reciprocating the appreciation for British institutions, creativity and services we have been shown in China. And as proud holders of a Royal Warrant we also wanted to provide some memorable examples of British technology and craftsmanship,”Charlesworth adds.</p>
<p>China is now the largest market for Bentley Motors. In 2011 the iconic British manufacturer delivered 1,664 cars to Chinese customers and during the first quarter of 2012 sales in the region grew by 84.66 percent compared with the same period in 2011. Bentley’s dealership presence is set to further expand in the next 12 months as the company introduces its latest high-performance coupe and convertible Continental models to Chinese customers in 2012.</p>
<p>The Bentley Mulsanne captures the essence of the Bentley marque. It is elegant yet distinctly sporting in character, delivering effortless performance, while within its sumptuous cabin, advanced technology sits discreetly with handcrafted luxury. Designed and engineered at Crewe from the ground-up, the Mulsanne has reaffirmed the marque’s intent to create a luxury grand tourer with refined performance, unparalleled levels of interior luxury and coach building skills to the fore.</p>

<p>Carbon aero kit, superlight forged wheels, 609 hp and 202 mph</p>
<p>Haute Couture at the highest performance level: NOVITEC ROSSO not only tailors a thrilling designer suit made from lightweight clear-coated carbon fiber for the Ferrari 458 Spider. Superlight forged wheels in a unique staggered 21- and 22-inch combination together with a sophisticated suspension system featuring hydraulic ride-height adjustment make the drop-top sports car even more dynamic. In addition, there is a power increase to 609 hp and an equally lightweight high-performance exhaust system with sound management by means of a butterfly valve. Further custom details such as black lamps or interiors custom-tailored to the owner’s individual preferences substantiate NOVITEC ROSSO’s leading global position in tuning and refining the sports cars from Maranello.</p>
<p>Carbon fiber is not only the top choice in Formula 1 racing, but also for the NOVITEC ROSSO aerodynamic-enhancement components for the Ferrari 458 Spider. The designers concentrated not merely on striking looks, but first and foremost on aerodynamic efficiency, which was fine-tuned in the wind tunnel of the University of Stuttgart.</p>
<p>The standard front fascia is upgraded with a two-piece front spoiler and side flaps for further reduced lift at high speeds. To round out the carbon-fiber look the wings in the air scoops and the ventilation grilles in the front fenders are also manufactured from this material. Tasteful carbon-fiber covers on the exterior mirrors complete the ensemble.</p>
<p>NOVITEC ROSSO carbon-fiber sill skirts can give the two-seater an even more sporty side appearance.</p>
<p>Also made from this high-tech material are the NOVITEC ROSSO diffuser and the bezel surrounding the rear fog lamp. To generate even more downforce on the rear axle the Spider can be upgraded either with a tasteful rear spoiler lip or a rear wing – both made from carbon fiber as well.</p>
<p>Further NOVITEC ROSSO styling features are black taillights, which are also emphasized visually with carbon-fiber bezels, black side markers and the black auxiliary LED brake light.</p>
<p>The new NOVITEC ROSSO NF4 forged wheels perfectly combine visual assets with increased driving dynamics thanks to reduced unsprung weight. To give the Ferrari even more of a wedge-shaped appearance a staggered tire/wheel combination with diameters of 21 and 22 inches was developed.</p>
<p>Despite their king-sized dimensions – 9Jx21 in front and 12Jx22 on the rear axle – these wheels with five delicate double spokes weigh just 21.8 lbs and 29.7 lbs. This makes the NOVITEC ROSSO wheels some of the lightest of their type in these sizes. Technology partner Pirelli supplies PZero high-performance tires in sizes 255/30 ZR 21 and 335/25 ZR 22. The popular three-piece NOVITEC ROSSO NF3 wheels with diameters of 20, 21 and 22 inches will continue to be available as an option.</p>
<p>Another NOVITEC ROSSO high-tech development is the hydraulic suspension system for the 458 Spider. At the push of a button in the cockpit the front of the car can be raised by 40 millimeters to navigate safely past curbs or to enter an underground parking garage. At a second push of the button or automatically upon reaching a speed of 80 km/h the front reverts to its original position. In addition, NOVITEC ROSSO sport springs lower the ride height of the Spider by some 35 millimeters. It goes without saying that the standard damper adjustment of the 458 Spider is retained fully.</p>
<p>NOVITEC ROSSO sport sway bars are available to further minimize body roll in fast corners and to improve turn-in.</p>
<p>This makes the 458 Spider perfectly suited for an extra helping of power. The most powerful version to date is the NOVITEC ROSSO Performance Level 1. In this case the 4.5-liter V8 is fitted with a special carbon-fiber air box with modified air routing and a NOVITEC ROSSO high-performance exhaust system. The exhaust system, manufactured from INCONEL, a highly stress-proof yet extremely lightweight material also used on exhausts for Formula 1 engines, consists of two high-performance manifolds, sport catalysts and a rear muffler. The latter is optionally available with a butterfly valve for changing the exhaust note with the Manettino on the steering wheel. The sport exhaust plays not only a crucial role in the increase in power by 39 hp, it also weighs 46.2 lbs less than the production exhaust.</p>
<p>In order to perfectly coordinate the interaction of all high-performance components the engine conversion also comprises newly programmed engine electronics with custom mapping for ignition and injection.</p>
<p>After the conversion the engine produces a peak power of 609 hp at 9,100 rpm and a peak torque of 420 lb/ft at 5,400 rpm. Even more important for day-to-day driving situations are the even more aggressive throttle response and the moderately higher redline speed for further improved shift points. The Ferrari 458 Spider with NOVITEC ROSSO engine tuning reaches a top speed in excess of 201 mph.</p>
<p>NOVITEC ROSSO goes beyond simply offering more power. The engine design itself is of an extremely sporty character with clear-coated carbon-fiber covers that turn the engine compartment into a feast for the eyes as well.</p>
<p>NOVITEC ROSSO also adds some outright racing highlights in the interior with tasteful carbon-fiber touches such as the center console that has been extended downward, the bezels above the speedometer and the climate sensor as well as with shift paddles that are longer than their production counterparts. Naturally there are also exclusive NOVITEC ROSSO all-leather interiors in any color imaginable.</p>

(from Eterniti Press Release)  ETERNITI LAUNCHES WORLD’S FIRST SUPER-SUV IN BEIJING</p>
<p>Eterniti Motors, the London-based boutique luxury carmaker, today unveils the engineering prototype of its first car at Beijing’s Auto China 2012 international motor show.</p>
<p>The vehicles on display are in-use, running prototypes so do not represent the final finish quality but do closely reflect the definitive interior and exterior styling.</p>
<p>The car, named Artemis, is the world’s first Super-SUV &#8211; a term created by Eterniti for a new class of vehicle providing the higher levels of luxury, performance and exclusivity demanded by today’s wealthy car buyers but which have not been available until now.</p>
<p>The car will be in production by summer 2012, beating Bentley, Lamborghini and Maserati’s luxury SUV offerings to market. Orders can be taken now through Eterniti’s sales operations in Europe (London) and Asia-Pacific (Hong Kong and Taipei), for deliveries starting in autumn 2012.</p>
<p>The car has a limousine-like rear cabin featuring up to 100mm of additional legroom, twin reclining rear seats with heating and cooling, iPad-ready holders with electronic reveal, and a drinks chiller. This satisfies a specific need, particularly in Asian markets, for a car suitable for both being chauffeured in and driving for pleasure. Unlike a conventional limousine, an SUV can offer excellent handling and driver appeal, and the ride height and ruggedness are suitable for poor road surfaces which can make limousines and conventional high-performance cars completely impractical. The Artemis is the ultimate crossover.</p>
<p>The interior is lavishly handcrafted, with a specification also including the finest leathers, quilted undercarpets and boot trim, lambswool rugs, veneers including natural woods, piano black and carbon fibre, a choice of sunroofs and starlight roof lining, and a state-of-the-art audio system.</p>
<p>The body panels are carbon composite and hand-built, and finished in a large choice of paint colours, complemented by different chrome trim styles. Ultra-low profile 315/25 tyres sit on dedicated 23” super-lightweight forged alloy rims in a variety of styles.</p>
<p>The 4.8-litre twin-turbo V8 engine produces over 600bhp (441kW) and 750Nm (553 lb ft) torque, can accelerate from 0-100kph in 4.5 secs and can exceed 290kph. Performance and handling have been developed by a race-bred British engineering team led by Alastair Macqueen. Macqueen previously developed to production the Jaguar XJ220, then the world’s fastest road car, and has engineered three outright Le Mans 24 Hour race wins for Jaguar and Bentley.</p>
<p>The car has been test-driven by F1 Grand Prix winner Johnny Herbert, who will play an ongoing role in product development as well as being an ambassador for the brand.</p>
<p>With a similar specification to the Beijing show vehicles the Eterniti Artemis is priced at the local currency equivalent of £210,000 plus local taxes in all markets except China, which will have a unique pricing strategy. A fully bespoke service will also be offered for customers wanting complete personalisation.</p>
<p>Eterniti is establishing a network of wholly-owned showrooms in key centres. Its London headquarters also has an atelier and a build facility where vehicles can be created and hand-built on-site to any specification. The facilities will be completed by July, followed later in the year by Eterniti-owned showrooms in Taipei and Hong Kong, which will serve as the company’s Asia-Pacific hub, with Tokyo following next year. The company is actively looking for retail partners to develop representation in China during 2013.</p>
<p>Cars will be covered by a full two-year, 100,000-mile warranty including servicing, and UK customers will have access to finance and insurance.</p>
<p>Background</p>
<p>Eterniti was started in 2010 to help satisfy a growing demand for additional luxury and personalised specifications among wealthy car buyers, particularly in major cities, global wealth centres and emerging markets ranging from London to the Asia-Pacific region. Uniquely, it is located in London and builds its vehicles there.</p>
<p>Although Eterniti is basing its business case around meeting market needs, its people have a passion for cars. The team has extensive experience in retailing some of the most prestigious British and European luxury and high-performance car brands, including Aston Martin, Porsche, Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Ferrari, in markets from the UK to Asia-Pacific. It has further experience in motor sport, with an FIA championship-winning record in GT series in both Europe and Asia.</p>

<p>Bugatti presents most powerful roadster ever at Beijing Motor Show</p>
<p>Molsheim/Beijing, April 23, 2012 – Following the success of the Veyron 16.4 Super Sport, Bugatti did not wait long before the company received inquiries about an open-top version of the Grand Sport that could also deliver 882 kW (1,200 hp). “We were instantly electrified by the idea of transferring the power of the Super Sport to the Grand Sport, that delivers a maximum of 1,001 hp, thus taking the roadster to a new level,” says Wolfgang Dürheimer, president of Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S. He continues: “Our team has managed to transfer the world’s most powerful car engine to the open-top sports car, while taking the vehicle’s dynamics and aerodynamic parameters into consideration. We are proud to present the fastest roadster ever at the Beijing Motor Show with the Asia premiere of the 1,200 hp Grand Sport Vitesse.” The second car Bugatti presents at Beijing is the “Wei Long 2012”, a one off Grand Sport model equipped with unique porcelain dragon relief parts at the in- and outside paying homage to the year of the dragon.</p>
<p>Dynamics in figures. The new Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse boasts a remarkable<br />
maximum torque of 1,500 Nm (at 3000–5000 rpm) from the 7.9-litre capacity of its W16 engine.  The maximum output (1,200 hp) is reached at 6,400 rpm. These figures allow the car to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) from standing in an unbelievable 2.6 seconds. The top speed of 410 km/h (255 mph) makes the four-wheel drive (like all Veyron) Grand Sport Vitesse the fastest production roadster ever.</p>
<p>Drive system. The 199 hp increase over the Grand Sport has been mainly achieved by using four<br />
larger turbochargers with new intercoolers. Furthermore, Bugatti has extensively reinforced all<br />
drivetrain components in order to safely transfer the immense force the Vitesse is capable of. As a<br />
consequence of the larger turbochargers and the overall reduced back pressure, it was even possible<br />
to reduce the fuel consumption slightly, even with the increased power output.</p>
<p>Chassis. In order to put the unrivalled power on the road safely and masterfully, the engineers have<br />
reconfigured the chassis of the Vitesse. Thanks to the quick-responding dampers that have been<br />
adapted from motor racing, the control of the vehicle has been further improved and balanced perfectly. In addition to the incomparable lateral acceleration that is able to go up to 1.4 g, the precise interaction of the tires (on all-new, lighter 20-inch “Vitesse”-type alloy wheels), together with the intelligent all-wheel-drive system, ensures stable handling. Since the reconfigured ESP kicks in slightly later, for example when you accelerate around corners, the Grand Sport Vitesse also provides a more dynamic performance in these types of situations. It goes without saying that Bugatti adapted the brake-cooling system to account for the even higher engine output. The brakes, which are unparalleled in terms of stability and performance, now have additional and larger air intakes.</p>
<p>Body. Bugatti has developed a new roof spoiler for the Grand Sport Vitesse that significantly<br />
reduces wind noise and buffering in the interior. Furthermore, there will be a new windbreak for the<br />
roadster that can be stored away compactly in the luggage compartment when not in use. Both<br />
components will also be available for the Grand Sport. While in place, they allow for an extremely<br />
relaxed, open-top driving experience even at speeds around 200 km/h (124 mph).</p>
<p>Numerous aerodynamic measures that appeared on the Super Sport’s front and rear have been<br />
adapted for the Grand Sport Vitesse. The front end is therefore characterised by larger air intakes;<br />
the two central air intakes to the left and right of the Bugatti radiator grille are divided horizontally<br />
by a bar. The bottom air vent stretches sideways into the wheel housing providing this exceptional<br />
sports car an extremely masterful appearance. Immediately below the air intake, you will see a new,<br />
visually refined front spoiler that has been designed in a similar way to the splitters used in motor<br />
racing. The rear end, which is also derived from the Super Sport, is characterised by a double diffusor<br />
and a centrally positioned twin tailpipe.</p>
<p>Interior. Carbon fibre is also the dominant material in the interior (along with stainless metals such<br />
as Aluminium and Magnesium) of the Grand Sport Vitesse. Numerous interior parts are now made<br />
from carbon fibre in the 1,200 hp roadster. This includes the center console extension, a cover with<br />
EB logo in the rear-bulkhead leather trim (between the seat backrests) and the belt outlet covers on<br />
the seats. The décor on the center console, the door inserts and the adjoining trim on the instrument<br />
panel are also made from carbon fibre. The bi-color black trim parts (for example, in the roof<br />
console) are also new in the Grand Sport version, as is a special seat design for the Grand Sport<br />
Vitesse.</p>
<p>Configuration of the show vehicles. There is no end to the individualization options for the<br />
Bugatti. Each one of the 350 Veyrons built is therefore completely unique. This also applies to the<br />
other models that Bugatti is exhibiting at the 2012 Beijing International Motor Show. The Grand<br />
Sport Vitesse is painted in all black with red rims in a diamond pattern. Its carmine red interior and<br />
seats showcase an aggressive, dynamic look that fits well with the positioning of the new Grand<br />
Sport Vitesse. It will cost 1.80 million euros. The classic Grand Sport, a sports car with an elegant,<br />
artistic orientation, will, of course, remain in the range. This year in Beijing, Bugatti is presenting a<br />
special model to pay homage to the year of the dragon. The one off Grand Sport model “Wei Long<br />
2012” was developed together with the Königliche Porzellan Manufaktur Berlin and has been fitted<br />
with dragon relief sculptures on finest porcelain both on the body and in the cabin endowing the car<br />
with deep Chinese cultural heritage. With highly elaborated dragon sculptures on the oil and fuel<br />
cap, its white polished exterior and carmine red interior the “Wei Long 2012” shines with elegance<br />
and nobility. The headrests are embroidered with the Chinese “Dragon” character, and the handcrafted<br />
100% silk floor mats are embossed with Chinese “Dragon” character. Highlight is the exquisite<br />
center piece with a white porcelain dragon relief sculpture with every detail of a dragon’s body so<br />
vividly craved and elaborated. These unique and artistic Chinese features together with the breathtaking speed of the Bugatti Grand Sport of more than 400 km/h make the “Wei Long 2012” the<br />
dragon of the automotive industry. This one off model will cost 1.58 million euros.</p>
