Top gear drives the 552 HP super car from Lexus.The 0-60 time is 3.7 seconds. Very nice car but still in the end it is a Lexus. I’d personally rather have a corvette ZR-1 or a Nissan GT-R which are both a lot cheaper and faster.

Here is an interesting comparison from Topgear. They test the V10 Audi R8 Vs. the powerful V8 Corvette ZR-1. I found it interesting that even though they say the ZR-1 is faster and more fun, they say the Audi R8 is a better car. The Audi R8 handles better and is made of better quality. I find it hard to believe when he says his ZR-1 broke down in 4days. Which of the two cars would you choose?

Video: Top Gear’s Showdown of Muscle Cars We’ll Never See
The Top Gear team has brought us another fun comparo, this time with two muscle cars. One is the Vauxhall VXR8 Bathurst, a GM sport sedan that brings back memories of our short-lived G8 GXP; the other is the HSV Maloo R8, Australia’s most revered “ute” (pickup car). Actually, both are reminiscent of the G8, since they are related. In any case, we’ve lost a great rear-drive Pontiac here in the States–but maybe the Cruze’ll make up for it.

Don’t be misled by the title. Jay Leno made an honest appearance over at Top Gear’s studio and took it upon himself to perform at the track. Leno’s well-known as a car guy, but can he really compete against the likes of Brian Johnson of AC/DC? The old rocker was as sharp as a scimitar on last week’s video.
Friday Flashback: Chargin’ from Down Under
America and Australia share a lot in common: besides being former British colonies, the people of these nations have an adventurous spirit–just think of the West and the Outback. That spirit was given a boost in the 1960s when the muscle car quickly gripped Yankee, Canuck, and Aussie drivers.
The brawny atmosphere dithered away here in the US during the ’70s, but it was kept quite alive in the land down under. Take a look at this TV promo for an Australian Charger, brought back to light from the guys at Top Gear Australia.

Video: An Old Rocker Blazes the Top Gear Ranks
AC/DC frontman Brian Johnson made his guest spot on Top Gear. Johnson, an Englishman, took over the singing role for the Aussie rock band after Bon Scott died in 1980. Johnson proved himself with hits like “Back in Black” and “Hell’s Bells.” Johnson proved himself again to Top Gear when he revealed his hardcore car enthusiasm and track skills, as you’ll see in this video.

With the 350, Nissan proved the Z could be a world-class competitor in handling, speed, and road manners. At the same time, BMW’s Z4 has blended GT comfort with sports car performance. Both have been updated and both have matured considerably. See how the 370Z stacks up against the new Z4 and judge for yourself if the comparo’s legit.
