It’s no secret that Chevy’s Camaro has been spanking the face-lifted Mustang in sales.  To try to end that run, Ford’s offering a new 3.7 L dual-cam V-6 as the starting engine for the 2011 model year.  The new six achieves 305 hp (more than the ‘05 V-8) and 280 ft.-lbs.  The engine will be linked to a 6-spd. “6R60″ transmission for smooth and effortless shifts.  The base coupe’s suspension will be identical to the GT’s, with performance adjustments now being standard.

  2. I am really glad that Ford bump the hp to be able compete. The 305 HP will be nice addition to venerable Mustang. Go Ford!
