GMC Kills Denali XT Project
In a tragic move, GMC announced it was canceling the Denali XT project. The unibody pickup emphasized car-like driving characteristics, high versatility, and decreased fuel consumption. Unlike the present GMC menu, the Denali XT was quite a unique product, standing apart from the normal line of rebadged Chevrolets. The reason for the cancellation had to do with the minimal engineering gains, manufacturing costs, and modest segment, as seen with Honda’s struggling Ridgeline. The arguments make sense, but it reinforces our view that GMC is a pointless entity.

i must say that i am very displeased about gmc’s decision to not make the denali xt. i had already named it as my next vehicle purchase as soon as i get through paying for my dodge magnum. as you can see, i, unlike most people am not afraid to make a bold decision.
i was going to buy a denali xt but i head that it was not going to come out so i just bought a 2010 camaro ss
this sucks. i was truly looking forward to purchasing one of these vehicles. maybe the ridgeline is struggling because it’s ugly and nobody wants to drive an ugly vehicle
This is a real bummer. Please reconsider on this decision. The production of this truck would definitly put all competitors in their place. This is a one of a kind design that will boost and lead GM in the industry regardless of what the ridgelind did. That was one ugly piece of work. The Denali XT would set a new striving standard.
Like the others, I am disapointed that GMC
decided to cancel the XT project. It was
definetly a vehicle I saw myself buying,
after paying off my 7 series. I have a
2003 denali that I still love to drive.
Hopefully GMC reconsiders later down
the line.
The worst news i ever heard.I hope GM change this soon. And to research deeper this vehicle. Here is the truth:
Denali xt need a little tyres.18 will be perfect-235,60 ,18 or else
need a diesel engine – maximum 3 liters, lower fuel consumption.
need a simple and standart interior design, cheep and versatile
I was ready to purchase immediately,I will not drive toyota or others. They dont have style.
i was look to buy one off denali xt project i look good in one in the bahamas ok
I just found out about this denali xt and i want it….disappointed that they are not in production…..wish they start again….and with this comment “reason for the cancellation had to do with the minimal engineering gains, manufacturing costs, and modest segment, as seen with Honda’s struggling Ridgeline”………I have an 08 ridgeline…..and i see more and more on the road everyday…………..this other comment “maybe the ridgeline is struggling because it’s ugly and nobody wants to drive an ugly vehicle”…….its not ugly…….the denali xt almost looks like the honda ridgeline….just meaner looking….I would gladly trade my honda in for the denali xt
This Denali XT was on my to buy list. GMC Cacellation of this vehicle is very disappointing news. I was actually looking for a release date, and starting prices. I don’t think that GMC should have to make decisions based on what the Ridgeline nor no other vehicle did or didn’t do!
It sucks. This was my first time to see it but already I had fallen in love. I was even hoping that some improvements had been made to the grill to give it a more rugged appeal. Most of the present model styles have been here like forever. This was an opportunity to give the following something to be proud of. Hope to see the Denali XT 2013.
This is some BS, I was finally sold into getting a truck….OH WELL!!! Out the window goes that thought.
