Bentley Mulsanne Debuts at Pebble Beach

In what could fall under the category of “over-hyped” from countless teaser pics, Bentley Motors rolled out its new premium-segment saloon at Pebble Beach: the Mulsanne.  The Mulsanne is longer than Bentley’s flagship, the Flying Spur, but about the only visual cue you’ll notice that’s different about the Mulsanne is the headlamp arrangement.  The quad-lights are taken from Bentley’s classic prewar eight-liter race cars, and word is that the magic “8″ will figure deeper under the sheetmetal.  Even though the Mulsanne won’t win a beauty contest (nor one for risky design), we really weren’t expecting anything radical from such a conservative marque to begin with–and it’s still more than what Rolls has given us in eighty years.
