ASC Brings Back the Trans Am…Sort of

A lot of tears were shed when GM announced it was killing off Pontiac.  The brand that brought us the Grand Prix, LeMans, Bonneville, and GTO is no more.  So goes the dream of another Firebird.

Or does it?

Tuner group ASC has released its rendering for a Trans Am revival project using a 2010 Camaro.  The new concept has a modified front fascia sculpted to resemble a ’70 Trans Am, along with white race stripes, rear vents behind the doors, and a tail-end spoiler.

ASC hasn’t put out any mechanical details, but one would expect to see the Camaro’s detuned LS3 engine put out more than its “lax” 422 hp.  Whatever the case, it’s nice to see the Firebird alive in some form at least. Trans AM for sale
