American 4 cylinders are terrible. Only a few cars with 4 cylinders are good (Lotus Exige, Lotus Elise, S2000) and none of them are American cars.

I wouldn't mind buying a 4 banger muscle car as long as it has some power. Most 4 cylinders are dogs, plus they don't really have much muscular sound to them. If gas gets any more expensive I might have to buy one.

I used to own an 85 Ford Thunderbird Turbo Coupe which had a turbo 4. It worked perfectly well with a 4 and got 30+ mpg on the highway. With it's 20 gallon tank, it could go over 500 miles per tank. It was reasonably quick as well - even though it had just 150 HP.

Honestly on public roads 260 HP is more than enough.

With gas prices this high, I think it's essential that Ford, GM, and Chrysler introduce 4 cylinder engines whenever feasible.
